Ashley Brooke Lunetta, M.Arch (née Biren), and Esther Stenzler, HBFA are the founding partners of the architecture + design firm Movement in Architecture [MIA]. Projects undertaken by MIA are diverse in scale and type, spanning throughout the United States and Canada. Recent projects MIA has engaged in include single-family residential projects in Los Angeles & Palm Springs.

Ashley Brooke Lunetta (née Biren)

Director of Architecture, Founder

Ashley Lunetta’s expertise lies in architectural design, research, recruitment, and client relations. Ashley has worked at award-winning architecture firms both in Canada and the United States where she specialized in higher education, mixed-use, retail, and residential design. Ashley has been involved in all aspects of the design process from programming to construction documentation for luxury shopping centers, high-rise residential developments, single-family residential, and student housing projects.

Ashley received her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architectural Science from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. As a graduate student, she was a recipient of numerous awards including, AIA Henry Adams Medal, OAA Guild Medal, ARCC King Student Medal, and was nominated for the Canada Council's Prix de Rome for Emerging Practitioners.

As a former dancer and choreographer, she aspires to enrich the experience of architecture through the potential of movement. Ashley has been invited to speak at interdisciplinary design conferences including the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture and Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts on the intersection of architecture & movement.

Esther Stenzler

Director of Business Development & Interiors, Founder

Esther specializes in business development, branding, and interior design. After graduating with Honors in Fine Arts from York University in Toronto, she began a long career of creative business venturing and entrepreneurship. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Esther designed, developed, and sold “Personal Hang-Ups” a very distinct line of personalized children’s wall designs sold throughout Ontario retail stores. In the mid-2000s, she had the opportunity to revolutionize packaging and design for traditional medical products, leading to her cofounding Hands-On Gloves in Toronto. As Co-Founder and President, Esther led business development, marketing, and branding efforts for a medical glove line that generated $1M in revenue in the first year of operations. After 5-years of operation, Esther sold her stake in Hands-on Gloves to focus on family and her next creative business venture. This highly talented skilled professional with high sales revenue and love for art and architecture combined her passion into MIA. While leading business development for MIA, Esther is CEO of Northern Impact - Los Angeles’ top recruitment agency specializing in Architects and Designers across the nation.
