Movement in Architecture [MIA] is a forward-thinking architecture + design firm led by Ashley Brooke Biren & Esther Stenzler based in Los Angeles and Palm Desert. We specialize in producing innovative design work and pushing the boundaries of architecture across all scales.

At MIA, we choreograph space. We create spaces that induce one’s senses, make you contemplate, feel joy and pleasure. We create opportunities to awaken the senses, evoke positive experiences derived from the smallest details to the grandest spaces. Materials, light, texture, volume, and geometry are our tools for choreographing space that elicits a sensory experience.

MIA is a full-service architectural practice taking ideas from schematic design to construction documentation. We work in all scales from designing furniture, interiors, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), single-family, and multi-family residential units. We also offer interior design consultation services such as space planning, interior design, color, and material selection.
